First Period

The opening period saw both teams locked in a defensive battle with neither side managing to find the back of the net. The Senators displayed strong defensive play, highlighted by their ability to block shots and maintain pressure on the Blue Note's offense.

Second Period

As play resumed, it was the Blues who broke through first with a goal that shifted momentum slightly in their favor. Despite this setback, Ottawa continued to press forward aggressively but struggled to convert opportunities into goals during even-strength play.

Third Period

In an attempt to level the playing field, Fabian Zetterlund emerged as a key player for Ottawa by scoring their sole goal during a powerplay opportunity. His efforts were supported by assists from Stephen Halliday and Claude Giroux. However, despite outshooting St. Louis with 42 shots compared to their opponent's 20 and maintaining significant puck possession throughout powerplays, they couldn't capitalize further.

The game concluded with Ottawa unable to overcome Joel Hofer's impressive goaltending performance for St. Louis which included crucial saves that denied additional scoring chances for Sens players like Tim Stutzle and Brady Tkachuk.

Looking ahead, fans can catch Ottawa Senators' next home game against New Jersey Devils on December 9th at Canadian Tire Centre starting at 7:00 PM EST broadcasted live via ESPN+ or MSGSN TV network channels.
