Triple Overtime Triumph: Can TCU Horned Frogs' Grit Outshine Baylor Bears' Home Advantage?

In a marathon matchup that stretched into triple overtime, the TCU Horned Frogs emerged victorious over the Baylor Bears with a final score of 105-102. The Horned Frogs now stand with an impressive record, while the Bears adjust to their new tally on the season. The game, which took place at Foster Pavilion in Waco, Texas, saw both teams locked in a relentless battle that included 12 ties and nine lead changes.

The Horned Frogs showcased remarkable resilience and offensive firepower throughout the contest. They managed to accumulate a total of 105 points by maintaining an efficient field goal percentage of 53 and converting on 57 percent of their two-point attempts. Their performance from beyond the arc was also notable as they hit eight three-pointers at a solid rate of 40 percent.

Defensively, TCU made its presence felt by recording three blocks and an impressive dozen steals which contributed significantly to their sixteen points off turnovers. The team's ability to convert opportunities into points was evident in their fifteen fast break points and thirteen second chance points.

The Bears put up a formidable fight themselves, particularly in terms of rebounding where they outdid TCU with forty-four total rebounds compared to thirty-seven for the visitors. However, despite shooting slightly better from two-point range at fifty-nine percent and scoring more points in paint (fifty), Baylor could not keep pace with TCU's scoring streaks.

TCU's teamwork shone through as well; they tallied sixteen assists over the course of play while keeping turnovers relatively low at thirteen for such an extended game duration. This resulted in an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.6 for TCU compared to Baylor's ratio of 1.5.

As fans look ahead after this hard-fought victory, attention turns back home where Schollmaier Arena will host another exciting matchup for the Horned Frogs against Texas Tech Red Raiders on January 30th at 6:00 PM local time (Central Time). Fans can catch all the action live on ESPN2 as TCU looks to continue its winning ways on its own court before another passionate home crowd.
