William Nylander led the charge with two goals and an assist, showcasing his critical role in the team's offensive lineup. Anthony Stolarz stood tall between the pipes for Toronto, making 32 saves on 34 shots faced from Tampa Bay. His efforts were crucial in keeping the Lightning at bay and securing his team's win with a save percentage rounding to an impeccable hundred percent.

Lightning's Efforts Fall Short


Despite their loss, Tampa Bay showed resilience throughout the match. They managed to put two past Stolarz but struggled to capitalize on six powerplay opportunities - only converting once. Their goaltender faced a barrage of shots from Toronto but could only stop 24 out of 29 attempts.


The Lightning did not go down without showing their strength; they won more faceoffs than Toronto (29 won by Tampa Bay against Toronto’s 17) and had more hits (20 each), indicating their physical presence during playtime.
