The Los Angeles Angels faced a tough challenge against the Boston Red Sox, concluding with a 12-2 defeat. The Angels now hold a 5-4 record, while the Red Sox improved to 7-3.

The game at Angel Stadium saw the home team Angels struggle to contain the offensive might of their opponents. Despite managing 8 hits throughout the game, they could only convert these into 2 runs. In contrast, the Red Sox capitalized on their 12 hits more effectively, crossing home plate twelve times without committing any errors.

Chase Silseth of the Angels was handed his first loss of the season after giving up three home runs in his five innings on the mound. His ERA ballooned to 5.4 as he struggled to find answers for Boston's hitters who maintained an on-base percentage (OBP) of .25 against him. The bullpen didn't fare much better; over four innings they allowed nine runs and posted an alarming ERA of 20.25 with an OBP of .538 against them.

Offensively for the Angels, there were some moments of resilience but not enough to shift momentum in their favor. They left nine runners on base and had six opportunities with runners in scoring position but failed to get a hit during those crucial moments.

Defensively, while no errors were recorded by either team indicating clean fielding performances overall, it was clear that Boston's hitters found ways to outmaneuver Los Angeles' defensive setups consistently throughout nine innings.
