The Astros set the tone early in the game, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding five more in the second. Despite not scoring in both third and fourth innings, they erupted for another five runs in fifth inning. Mauricio Dubón boasted an average of .500 with his performance including two at-bats, while William Wagner impressed with a .500 batting average alongside three RBIs and achieving an on-base plus slugging (OPS) score of 1.667. Corey Julks stood out significantly with an OPS score of 2.417 after batting .667 including two RBIs from just three at-bats.

On pitching side for Astros, José Urquidy's efforts were notable as he secured a win contributing to his season's achievements with an earned run average (ERA) of 2.25 over four innings pitched which helped maintain control over Cardinals' hitters throughout his appearance.


The St Louis Cardinals managed to gather nine hits but were stifled by effective pitching from Astros which limited them to just one run throughout game despite having opportunities across various innings including second where they scored their lone run amidst two errors committed by their own defense.
