First Inning


The opening inning was relatively quiet for both teams. The Astros managed one hit but couldn't convert it into a run. Meanwhile, Framber Valdez took to the mound for Houston and efficiently retired three batters without allowing any hits or runs.


Fourth Inning


The fourth inning proved pivotal as Houston's bats ignited. Jeremy Peña led off with a single and was soon followed by Christian Walker's double that put runners in scoring position. Cam Smith then delivered a crucial hit that brought Peña home, sparking a rally that saw two more singles and another double from Isaac Paredes. This offensive burst resulted in four runs for Houston, giving them a comfortable lead.

Seventh Inning


In the seventh inning, Mauricio Dubón added two more runs to Houston’s tally with his timely hitting. His performance highlighted his ability to deliver under pressure and extended the Astros' lead further against Pittsburgh's struggling bullpen.


Ninth Inning


Houston sealed their victory in style during the ninth inning when they scored an additional two runs thanks to contributions from Jose Altuve and Jake Meyers. On defense, Bryan Abreu closed out strong by striking out three batters across two innings of work without conceding any hits or walks.

On Pittsburgh’s side, despite efforts from Bryan Reynolds who managed one of only five hits against Astros pitching staff throughout nine innings; it wasn't enough as they struggled offensively throughout most parts of this matchup.
