The Athletics struggled offensively early on, failing to score any runs through the first three innings. However, they managed to break through in the fourth inning with two hits and one run. Despite this effort, they couldn't maintain momentum and remained scoreless for several subsequent innings.

On the pitching front, Oakland's starter faced challenges but managed four strikeouts over three innings. The bullpen performed admirably with an earned run average (ERA) of 1.0 and seven strikeouts across nine innings pitched.

Offensively for Oakland, there were eight hits recorded throughout the game. Notably, one home run contributed significantly to their total runs scored. Despite these efforts, they left nine runners on base and struggled with hitting in scoring positions.

Defensively, the Athletics were solid with no errors committed during the game. They executed two double plays and maintained a perfect fielding percentage of 100 percent.

For Colorado's part, their offense was more consistent throughout various stages of the game. They started strong by scoring two runs in the first inning from three hits but then went silent until another surge in extra innings secured their victory.

Colorado’s pitching staff also played a crucial role; Nick Mears earned his first win while Matt Koch secured his first save of this season by closing out effectively against Oakland’s batters.
