In the first inning, the Athletics made a strong start with two hits that resulted in two runs. This early surge set the tone for their performance. The team managed six hits overall and committed one error during the game.

The third inning was quiet for both teams as neither managed to score or make significant plays. However, in the fourth inning, Oakland added another hit but failed to convert it into runs.

The sixth inning was pivotal for both teams. The Astros scored their only run of the game on one hit and benefited from an error by Oakland's defense. Despite this slip-up, the Athletics responded strongly with three hits that brought home another run, solidifying their lead.

Oakland's pitching staff performed admirably throughout the game. Starter JP Sears pitched six innings without allowing any earned runs and recorded his fourth win of the season. Relievers Scott Alexander and Lucas Erceg each contributed holds before Mason Miller closed out the game with his tenth save of the season.

Houston's offense struggled against Oakland's pitchers, managing only four hits across nine innings. Spencer Arrighetti took his fifth loss of the season despite a commendable effort on his part.

Defensively, both teams had moments of excellence but also showed areas needing improvement. Houston played an error-free game while Oakland committed one throwing error that led to an unearned run for Houston.

Looking ahead, fans can catch Oakland’s next matchup against Houston on May 26 at 1:07 PM local time at Oakland Coliseum. The game will be broadcasted live on SCHN network.
