On the pitching side for Oakland, Joey Estes delivered a solid start with an earned run average (ERA) of 3.0 across six innings pitched, striking out five batters while only allowing four hits and two earned runs against him.


The Phillies struggled to match Oakland's intensity throughout this contest. They managed only four hits against Athletics pitchers who collectively maintained an ERA of 2.0 over nine innings pitched.
