Athletics' Seventh-Inning Rally Falls Short Against Mariners at T-Mobile Park

The Athletics faced off against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park, resulting in a 4-11 loss for the Green and Gold. This game brought their season record to 60-72, while the Mariners improved to 70-61. Despite a spirited effort, particularly in the later innings, the A's couldn't overcome Seattle's early offensive surge.

First Inning


The game started with both teams showing restraint. The Athletics were unable to secure any hits or runs in their first inning at-bat. Meanwhile, the Mariners quickly took control by scoring 2 runs on 2 hits during their turn.


Second Inning


In an attempt to respond, Tyler Soderstrom managed to get on base for Oakland with a hit that eventually led to a run scored by JJ Bleday. However, Seattle extended their lead significantly by adding another 3 runs from just as many hits.


Third Inning


The third inning proved pivotal as Seattle unleashed an offensive barrage that netted them an additional 6 runs from 4 hits. The Athletics struggled defensively during this period and failed to add any points of their own.


Sixth Inning


After several scoreless innings for both sides, Oakland showed signs of life in the sixth inning with two solid hits but were unable to convert these into runs due to strong pitching from Seattle’s bullpen.


Seventh Inning


A spark ignited within the A's lineup during this inning when they scored twice thanks largely due to Brett Harris and Darell Hernaiz contributing key plays that resulted in much-needed momentum shift towards Oakland’s side.
