The Braves set the tone early in the first inning, scoring one run off three hits. However, it was in the fourth inning that Atlanta truly broke away, amassing six runs on three hits aided by an error from the Cubs. This explosive inning effectively sealed Chicago's fate for the remainder of the contest. The Braves' hitters demonstrated exceptional discipline and power at the plate, evidenced by their .273 batting average and .827 OPS for this game. Notably, two home runs contributed significantly to their seven-run tally.

Onbase performance was also stellar for Atlanta with a .342 OBP as they capitalized on four walks alongside their nine hits which included six singles and one double. Their ability to convert opportunities into runs was highlighted by hitting .286 with runners in scoring position.

Defensively, Atlanta's pitching staff delivered an outstanding performance by shutting out Chicago through nine innings. The starting pitcher played a crucial role in setting up this victory by holding down Chicago's lineup over seven innings pitched with an impressive ERA of 0.00 and striking out eleven batters while allowing only two hits.

The bullpen maintained this momentum; over two innings pitched they allowed just one hit while keeping their ERA at 0.00 and demonstrating efficiency with every pitch thrown.

Conversely, The Cubs struggled offensively throughout all nine innings as reflected in their inability to score any runs despite having opportunities presented through eight scattered singles across different innings but failing to capitalize on these moments due largely because of Atlanta’s tight defense which did not allow any errors during play time thus preventing any unearned runs from being scored against them

Looking ahead, fans can catch The Braves next facing off against The Cubs once again at Truist Park on May 15th at 7:20 PM Eastern Time.
