The Braves began the game with a quiet first inning but quickly found their rhythm. By the third inning, they had scored their first run thanks to consistent hitting. The fourth inning saw another run added to their tally. The fifth inning was particularly productive for Atlanta as they managed to score two runs on two hits, extending their lead.

In total, the Braves amassed 14 hits throughout the game, including five doubles and two home runs. Their batting average for this game stood at an impressive .378. Notably, they left seven runners on base but still managed to capitalize on key opportunities.

On the mound, Chris Sale delivered a stellar performance for Atlanta. He pitched seven innings and allowed only one earned run while striking out eight batters. His efforts were complemented by a strong bullpen that maintained control in the final innings without conceding any additional runs.

The Pirates struggled offensively against Atlanta's pitching staff. They managed only five hits in total and scored their lone run in the second inning off two hits. Despite some solid contact later in the game, Pittsburgh couldn't find gaps in Atlanta's defense or string together enough hits to mount a comeback.

Defensively, both teams played clean games without committing any errors. However, it was clear that Atlanta's combination of effective pitching and timely hitting gave them a significant edge over Pittsburgh.

Looking ahead, fans can catch the next Braves game against Washington Nationals on May 27th at Truist Park in Atlanta starting at 8:10 PM Eastern Time broadcasted by MASN2 network.
