Brewers Battle Hard but Fall to Rockies in High-Scoring Affair at Salt River Fields

In a game that saw the Milwaukee Brewers and the Colorado Rockies rack up a combined total of 18 runs and 22 hits, it was the Rockies who emerged victorious with a final score of 12-6. The Brewers now stand at a 1-1 record, while the Rockies improve to an undefeated 2-0 early in the season.

The Brewers opened strong, scoring one run off two hits in the first inning and adding another two runs on three hits in the second. However, their offense cooled down as they failed to score in both the fourth and fifth innings. A late-game effort saw them adding two more runs in the eighth inning, but it wasn't enough to overcome their opponents' lead. Overall, Milwaukee tallied ten hits but was hampered by two errors over the course of the game.

Milwaukee's pitching struggled throughout, with their bullpen bearing most of the brunt. The relievers faced 41 batters, allowing twelve runs (eleven earned) on eleven hits over seven innings pitched. Their efforts resulted in an ERA of 14.143 for this game alone.

On an individual level, several Brewers players had noteworthy performances despite the loss. Owen Miller showcased his hitting skills by batting .667 with an OPS (on-base plus slugging) of 2.0 across his appearances at bat—though he didn't contribute any home runs or RBI this time around. Joseph Wiemer also made his mark with a batting average of .500 and an OPS of .833 from just two at-bats.

The Colorado Rockies capitalized on their opportunities especially during later innings where they scored five runs in both seventh and eighth innings respectively which ultimately sealed their victory against Milwaukee.

Looking ahead, fans can catch Milwaukee's next game as they face off against Kansas City Royals at Surprise Stadium located in Surprise Arizona on February 27th at 3:05 PM EDT where they will be hoping for better fortunes away from home soil.
