Their hitters were on fire, achieving a .361 batting average as a team and slugging four home runs throughout the game. Notably, Christian Yelich contributed significantly with an RBI count of four and a slugging percentage that soared to 1.333. Another standout player was Jackson Chourio who impressed everyone with his .750 batting average and an on-base percentage of .75.


The pitching staff also had notable performances despite some challenges early in the game. Nestor Cortes struggled initially with an ERA of 8.1 but managed to strike out six batters over just over three innings pitched. The bullpen significantly improved upon Cortes's efforts; Bryan Hudson highlighted these efforts with his ERA standing at zero and managing a WHIP (Walks plus Hits per Inning Pitched) of just 0.75.

Giants' Efforts Overshadowed


While the Giants put up a valiant effort scoring five runs off nine hits and two errors, their performance was overshadowed by that of their opponents'. Their early lead in the first inning gave hope but as Milwaukee's bats warmed up, San Francisco struggled to keep pace defensively and offensively.
