Key Performances on the Mound

The Brewers' pitching staff was exceptional, combining for a shutout against the Reds. Starter Nestor Cortes led the way with six innings of nearly flawless baseball, allowing only one hit and striking out nine batters. His performance set the tone for Milwaukee's bullpen, which continued to stifle Cincinnati's hitters throughout the remaining three innings. Elvis Peguero and Joel Payamps both contributed scoreless outings from the bullpen, maintaining their perfect ERA for this game.

Offensive Highlights

Offensively, it was a challenging day for both teams as hits were hard to come by. The Brewers managed five hits against Cincinnati's pitchers but made them count when it mattered most. Salvatore Frelick stood out by driving in the game's only run and boasting an impressive batting average of .667 for this match. Rhys Hoskins and Brice Turang also contributed with batting averages of .333 each, providing crucial support on offense.

Despite their efforts on base paths including two stolen bases indicating aggressive playstyle, Milwaukee struggled to convert opportunities into more runs due largely to leaving twelve runners on base throughout nine innings.

Looking Ahead

The next matchup between these two teams promises another exciting encounter as they continue their series at American Family Field in Milwaukee. Fans can catch all action live on FDSOH network scheduled for April 4th at 8:10 PM EDT.
