First Inning

The game began with both teams setting a defensive tone. The Pirates managed to score early in the first inning, capitalizing on two hits that brought one run home. Meanwhile, Milwaukee struggled to find their rhythm at bat and ended their first inning without any hits or runs.

Second Inning

In the second inning, Milwaukee showed signs of life as they recorded two hits and scored their only run of the game. The Brew Crew's offensive push was led by Christian Yelich and William Contreras who contributed significantly during this period. However, despite these efforts, they couldn't build further momentum as Pittsburgh's defense held strong.

Third Through Sixth Innings

As the innings progressed from third through sixth, both teams displayed solid pitching performances that kept scoring opportunities limited. The Brewers' starter Aaron Ashby showcased his skills on the mound with an ERA of 1.5 and WHIP of 1.1667 over six innings pitched but received little support from his offense during this stretch.

Seventh Inning

The seventh inning saw another breakthrough for Pittsburgh when they added one more run to their tally thanks to two well-timed hits against Milwaukee’s bullpen pitcher Tyler Alexander whose ERA stood at 13.5 after allowing this crucial run which ultimately decided the outcome.
