First Inning

The opening inning set a cautious tone for both teams as neither managed to score. The Brewers' starting pitcher demonstrated control and precision, allowing just one hit while striking out three batters across six innings. On the offensive side, Milwaukee's lineup struggled initially against the Cardinals' pitching but remained patient at the plate.

Fourth Inning

The fourth inning proved pivotal for Milwaukee as they broke through with two runs. Christian Yelich led off with a single and was followed by Rhys Hoskins, who reached base on another hit. Caleb Durbin then stepped up and delivered an RBI single that brought Yelich home, energizing the home crowd. With runners on base, William Contreras capitalized on an opportunity by driving in Hoskins with another well-timed hit.

Seventh Inning

Milwaukee added an insurance run in the seventh inning when Jackson Chourio singled and later scored thanks to Brice Turang's sacrifice fly. This run would prove crucial as it provided just enough cushion against St. Louis's late-game efforts.

Eighth Inning

In response, St. Louis attempted a comeback in their half of the eighth inning when they managed to score one run off two hits but were ultimately stifled by Milwaukee’s bullpen performance which included five strikeouts over three innings of relief work from Trevor Megill and Abner Uribe combined.

Ninth Inning

As tension mounted during this final stretch of playtime between these division rivals; however despite some pressure applied via consecutive singles from Redbirds players - Jared Koenig closed things down effectively securing his first save without further incident thus sealing victory for hometown favorites much delight fans present within stadium confines today!
