Despite these individual successes, it wasn't enough to overcome the Marlins' offensive power as evidenced by their scoring spree in both second and third innings where they accumulated nine runs combined.

Marlins' Offensive Power

The Miami Marlins demonstrated formidable batting strength throughout this encounter, amassing a total of eleven runs on thirteen hits without committing any errors—a testament to their efficiency both at bat and in fielding.

A significant part of their success can be attributed to their explosive second inning where they scored four runs followed by five more in the third inning which essentially set them up for victory early in the game.

Their pitching staff also contributed significantly to stifling Cardinals’ hitters with an overall earned run average (ERA) that kept Cardinal batters largely at bay despite some successful individual performances from St Louis’ lineup.
