Cardinals' Recent Performance

In their last few games, the Cardinals have shown flashes of brilliance but have struggled with consistency. On May 4 against the New York Mets, they managed an impressive win with a score of 6-5. The offense was firing on all cylinders with an average of .333 and an on-base percentage of .439. However, pitching remains a concern as they allowed five runs and had an earned run average (ERA) of 5.0.

On May 2 and May 1, however, things were less rosy for STL as they faced defeats against NYM and Cincinnati Reds respectively. The game against CIN was particularly challenging; despite having only three hits in total and scoring just one run while allowing nine runs from CIN's side.

Nationals' Potential Threats

The Washington Nationals will not be easy opponents either; their lineup boasts some formidable hitters who can exploit any weaknesses in STL's pitching staff which has been inconsistent lately - evident from high ERAs seen across recent matches like those versus NYM where it stood at seven percent or more during certain innings played by both starters & bullpen alike!

Moreover WSH’s Josiah Gray is expected to lead his team’s charge once again after delivering solid performances throughout this season thus far making him someone worth keeping tabs upon closely when these two teams clash soon enough here within confines located right inside DC itself come next week onwards now too!
