Cardinals' Wings Clipped by Dodgers' Lightning Strikes at Busch Stadium

In a matchup that saw the St. Louis Cardinals face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Cards fell short with a 7-3 loss at Busch Stadium. First Inning


The opening inning set a cautious tone as both teams failed to score. The Cardinals managed one hit but couldn't capitalize on it, leaving fans eager for more action from their team.


Second Inning


The second inning proved pivotal for the Dodgers as they scored three runs on four hits. This offensive burst put pressure on the Redbirds early in the game. Despite this setback, Cardinals pitcher Michael McGreevy held his ground without allowing any walks during his time on the mound.

Third and Fourth Innings


Both teams remained scoreless in the third inning; however, in the fourth inning, Los Angeles added another run with two hits. Meanwhile, St. Louis continued to struggle offensively despite Brendan Donovan's consistent performance at bat with an average of .400 from previous games.


Fifth Inning


St. Louis finally broke through in their half of fifth when Alec Burleson drove home a run amidst three hits for his team—an effort that showcased his batting prowess evident from previous performances where he maintained an impressive .667 average.

Sixth and Seventh Innings


The sixth inning saw another run added by each side: Willson Contreras contributed significantly for St.Louis with one RBI while maintaining an OPS of 1.25 across recent games; however it wasn't enough as LA matched them once again extending their lead further into seventh thanks largely due strong pitching efforts which kept Cards hitters off balance throughout these frames


Eighth Inning
