From the outset, it was clear that Chicago's hitters were dialed in. The team tallied nine hits throughout the game and capitalized on key moments to drive in runs. A pivotal sixth inning saw the Cubs break through with three runs, thanks in part to two errors by the Rockies' defense. This surge was followed by an additional two runs in the seventh inning, solidifying Chicago's lead.

Chicago's pitchers were equally impressive, allowing only three hits and maintaining a perfect earned run average (ERA) of 0.0 across nine innings of work. The starting pitcher set down twenty-one batters faced (BF), striking out nine with an exceptional strikeout-to-walk ratio (K/BB) of 9.0 and a batting average against (BAA) of just .095.

Defensively, while committing one error, the Cubs displayed efficiency on the field with thirty-one total chances (TC) and achieving a fielding percentage (FPCT) of .968. They kept Colorado's base runners at bay throughout all nine innings.

The bullpen also played its role flawlessly for Chicago; over three innings pitched they allowed only one hit and maintained an impressive walks plus hits per inning pitched (WHIP) ratio of .6667.

At bat, several statistics stand out for Chicago: they had eight at-bats with runners in scoring position (AB RISP), managed fifteen left on base (LOB), and achieved an on-base percentage (OBP) of .343 along with an on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS) of .624.

Looking ahead to their next matchup, fans can catch another exciting game as Wrigley Field will once again be buzzing when it hosts a rematch between these two teams.
