The Cubs entered the game at T-Mobile Park hoping to build on their positive win-loss ratio. However, despite a clean defensive performance with zero errors and an impeccable fielding percentage of 1.0, they struggled to find their rhythm at the plate. The team's batting average was a mere .125 for the game, and they left seven runners on base (LOB). Their inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities was evident as they went hitless in three at-bats with runners in scoring position (RISP).

Chicago's pitching staff had mixed results throughout the night. The bullpen delivered an impressive performance with an earned run average (ERA) of 0.0 over four innings pitched and struck out five batters while only allowing one hit. However, their starters were less effective, posting an ERA of 9.0 across four innings and giving up five hits.

On offense for the Cubs, there were some moments of hope as they managed two extra-base hits including a home run that contributed to their total runs batted in (RBI) count of one for the game.

The Mariners capitalized on their opportunities more effectively than Chicago did. They scored four runs off six hits but also committed two errors during play which did not ultimately impact their path to victory.

Seattle's pitcher Bryce Miller earned his second win while Jordan Wicks from Chicago was saddled with his second loss despite not giving up any unearned runs during his time on mound.

Looking ahead after this tough outing for Chicago fans is another matchup between these two teams scheduled for April 14th at T-Mobile Park in Seattle where fans can tune into MARQ network to catch all the action live starting at 6:40 PM local time (Pacific Time Zone).
