From the outset, the Cubs took control of the game, setting a strong pace in the first inning with three hits and three runs. They continued their offensive dominance by adding another run in the second inning and two more in the fourth. The team's batting average was a solid .273, and they managed to leave seven runners on base throughout the game. The Cubs' hitters were particularly effective with runners in scoring position, achieving two hits from eleven at-bats.

Yency Almonte emerged as one of Chicago's key players by earning his first win of this season due to his contribution from relief pitching position. On offense, standout performances included hitting four extra-base hits and driving in eight runs collectively as a team.


Defensively, Chicago was flawless; they did not commit any errors during nine innings played which contributed significantly towards their victory over Los Angeles who recorded one error themselves.
