The pitching staff played its part in securing this win for the Cubs as well. On defense, Pete Crow-Armstrong and Dansby Swanson both maintained perfect fielding percentages (FPCT) contributing to keeping errors off the board for Chicago.


The Reds tried to mount a comeback in the fifth inning by scoring three runs but fell short as their efforts were overshadowed by Chicago's dominant offense throughout nine innings.
