First Inning


The game began with both teams unable to score, setting a defensive tone early on. The Cubs' pitching staff managed to keep the Rays from gaining any momentum, allowing only one hit in this inning.


Second Inning


In the second inning, Chicago's offense started to show signs of life. Nico Hoerner played a pivotal role by getting on base and eventually scoring due to strategic hitting from his teammates. This gave the Cubbies their first run of the game.

Fourth Inning


By the fourth inning, both teams were locked in a tight battle. The North Side managed to add two more runs thanks to Michael Busch's powerful hitting that included his home run contribution. This brought their total hits for this inning up to two and increased their lead temporarily.


Sixth Inning


However, Tampa Bay responded strongly in subsequent innings. During the sixth inning, they scored twice through consistent batting efforts and capitalized on opportunities presented by Chicago's bullpen struggles.

Seventh Inning Onwards


Despite another run added by Chicago during the seventh inning courtesy of Moisés Ballesteros’ efforts at bat—who had an impressive .333 average—the Rayhawks continued pressing forward with relentless offensive plays throughout eighth and ninth innings which ultimately secured them victory as they scored additional runs each time around; thus sealing fate against our beloved Cubbies despite valiant attempts made defensively till endgame whistle blew across field grounds here today!
