The game unfolded with both teams showing strong defensive plays, but it was in the second inning that the Orioles began to pull ahead with two runs off three hits. The Diamondbacks responded in the third inning with a run of their own and managed another in the sixth inning, bringing their total runs to two. However, consistent scoring by Baltimore in both fifth and seventh innings solidified their lead.

A notable performance came from an unexpected source as one of Arizona's hitters managed to hit a home run amidst challenging weather conditions that included light drizzle and mist. This home run contributed significantly to keeping hope alive for Arizona fans until late into the game. On top of this individual brilliance, Arizona showcased disciplined hitting statistics with an on-base percentage (OBP) of .27 and slugging percentage (SLG) of .324.

Cole Irvin secured his fourth win of the season for Baltimore by maintaining control over his pitches throughout his appearance on mound. Meanwhile, Brandon Pfaadt was tagged with his third loss despite showing potential through six innings pitched.

Arizona also displayed resilience on defense with no errors recorded during this match-up against Baltimore’s aggressive batting lineup which also managed seven hits but capitalized more effectively on scoring opportunities.
