Can Diamondbacks' Bullpen Silence Mets' Bats at Citi Field?

The Arizona Diamondbacks are set to face the New York Mets at Citi Field on May 30, and this game promises to be a fascinating clash. The D-backs have shown a mixed bag of performances recently, but their bullpen has been particularly noteworthy. In their last game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 23, the D-backs' bullpen pitched 8.1 innings without allowing an earned run, showcasing an impressive ERA of 0.00.

Arizona's hitting has also been fairly consistent. In their recent games, they managed to score runs in crucial moments despite some struggles with runners in scoring position (RISP). For instance, on May 22 against the Dodgers, they scored six runs with nine hits and two home runs but left several runners stranded.

However, one area where Arizona needs improvement is its starting pitching. The starters have struggled to go deep into games and have often left too much work for the bullpen. This was evident in their game on May 21 when Slade Cecconi lasted only three innings before handing over to a bullpen that eventually allowed six runs.

On the other hand, the New York Mets will not be easy opponents. They have had a solid season so far and boast a strong lineup capable of punishing any mistakes from opposing pitchers. The Mets’ ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities will be something AZ must watch out for.

The key for AZ lies in maintaining their recent form from both hitters and relievers while hoping for more stability from their starters. If they can get off to a good start and keep NYM's bats quiet early on, it could set them up nicely for another win.

Fans should mark their calendars: this exciting matchup is scheduled for May 30 at Citi Field with first pitch at approximately 7:10 PM ET. Catch all the action live on MLB Network!
