The match unfolded at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, Arizona, where 10,155 fans witnessed an engaging contest between these two squads. From the outset, the Cincinnati Reds established control by scoring in the first inning and building on their lead with strategic hits and runs across several innings. They managed to accumulate a total of 13 hits throughout the game.

The Diamondbacks found themselves trailing but showed resilience and fighting spirit particularly in the sixth inning when they scored all four of their runs. Despite this burst of energy and narrowing down the lead, it wasn't enough to secure a win against a determined Reds team.

Key performances for the Diamondbacks included Corbin Carroll who had an impressive day at bat with an average of .667 including one RBI from his three at-bats contributing significantly to his team's efforts. Christian Walker also stood out by hitting .500 and driving in one run which showcased his timely hitting capabilities.

On pitching duties for Arizona, Zachary Gallen started on the mound but faced challenges against a relentless Cincinnati batting lineup. Gallen ended up with an ERA of 7.941 over his appearance before being relieved by Joseph Mantiply among others from bullpen who tried to stem the tide against Cincinnati's offense.
