Throughout the game, the Diamondbacks showcased superior batting prowess by accumulating nine hits, three more than the Rockies' six. Both teams displayed stellar defensive skills, committing no errors and proving their fielding competence. Despite an early advantage for the Rockies, who scored once in the second inning and twice in the third, they couldn't maintain their lead. The Diamondbacks' strategic offense paid off with two crucial runs in both the third and ninth innings.

Jacob McCarthy stood out for Arizona with a remarkable batting average of .600 during this encounter, driving in two runs that were pivotal for his team's slim victory margin. Joshua Bell also made significant contributions by scoring one run and posting a batting average of .250 alongside an on-base percentage of .25. Corbin Carroll complemented these efforts by matching Bell's batting average and on-base percentage but excelled with a slugging percentage of .75.

From the mound, Joseph Mantiply delivered an outstanding performance for Arizona from the bullpen. He boasted an earned run average (ERA) of zero throughout his stint while striking out batters at an impressive rate of nine per nine innings pitched and maintaining his walks plus hits per inning pitched (WHIP) at zero.

Despite putting up a fight by securing six hits over nine innings and scoring three early runs, Colorado struggled to leverage critical moments effectively which played a significant role in their downfall.
