Diamondbacks' Performance Highlights

The Diamondbacks showed resilience throughout the game, accumulating a total of 10 hits. Despite their efforts, they could only convert these into five runs due to strategic pitching from the Mariners. The team's batting average was .270 with an on-base percentage (OBP) of .372 and slugging percentage (SLG) of .351. Notably, they had opportunities with runners in scoring position but managed to hit only four times out of fifteen attempts.

Key players for Arizona included Ildemaro Vargas who hit an impressive .333 and Gavin Conticello along with Joshua-Douglas Naylor both achieving perfect batting averages for their appearances at bat. Kevin Graham and Timothy Tawa also contributed significantly; Graham hitting .500 while Tawa drove in a run and matched Graham's batting average.

On the mound, Listher Sosa and Spencer Giesting both delivered scoreless performances despite facing multiple batters. However, challenges persisted as Scott McGough allowed multiple runs over his innings pitched reflecting an ERA of 18.00.

Mariners Take Advantage

The Seattle Mariners capitalized on their opportunities by amassing 17 hits leading to eleven runs scored across various innings including a six-run explosion in the second inning which set them ahead early on. Their aggressive approach saw them maintaining high on-base plus slugging percentages which proved too much for Arizona's pitchers.

Despite committing one error similar to Arizona's count, Seattle's fielding did not significantly impact their lead thanks largely to effective pitching that kept Diamondback runners stranded on base throughout crucial moments in the game.
