Did Diamondbacks' Eighth Inning Surge Almost Topple Cardinals at Busch Stadium?

First Inning


The game began with the Cardinals taking an early lead, scoring 1 run on 3 hits. The Snakes managed to get two hits but couldn't convert them into runs.


Fifth Inning


By the fifth inning, both teams had settled into a defensive rhythm. The D-Backs finally broke through with their first run of the game thanks to Pavin Smith's contribution, bringing their total hits to five by this point.

Seventh Inning


The seventh inning saw a shift in momentum as the Redbirds scored three runs on two hits, extending their lead significantly. Meanwhile, Arizona's bats were quiet during this period.


Eighth Inning


In an exciting eighth inning for Arizona fans, the Snakes rallied with four runs on five hits. Randal Grichuk was instrumental in this surge with his powerful hitting performance that included a home run and two RBIs.

Ninth Inning


Despite another hit from Arizona in the ninth inning, they couldn't overcome St. Louis' lead as no additional runs were scored by either team during this final stretch of play.
