The game began with both teams struggling to find their rhythm offensively. The first four innings saw no runs scored by either side. However, the fifth inning marked a turning point for Arizona. The Diamondbacks managed to score three runs on two hits during this inning, setting the stage for their eventual triumph.

Los Angeles had six hits throughout the game but failed to convert any into runs. Their best opportunity came in the sixth inning when they recorded two hits but were unable to capitalize on them. The Dodgers' hitting statistics revealed an average of .188 and an on-base percentage of .257, highlighting their struggles at bat.

Arizona's Ryne Nelson played a pivotal role in this matchup. Nelson pitched effectively for five innings and was credited with his third win of the season against three losses. His performance was instrumental in keeping Los Angeles scoreless throughout his time on the mound.

On the other hand, Tyler Glasnow took the loss for Los Angeles despite striking out six batters over five innings pitched. He allowed three earned runs and one walk during his outing.

The eighth inning saw another surge from Arizona as they added two more runs on four hits, further extending their lead to 6-0. This offensive burst solidified their dominance over Los Angeles in this contest.

Defensively, both teams displayed solid fielding performances with minimal errors committed; however, it was Arizona's pitching that truly shone through as they managed nine strikeouts while allowing only six hits across nine innings pitched.
