Dodgers' Lone Run Not Enough as Reds Prevail in Cincinnati

The Los Angeles Dodgers, now standing at 33-21, faced off against the Cincinnati Reds, who improved their record to 22-30. The game concluded with a final score of 3-1 in favor of the Reds.

The Dodgers managed to secure only five hits throughout the game. Their sole run came in the second inning when they recorded two hits. Despite their efforts, they were unable to capitalize on other opportunities and left eleven runners on base by the end of nine innings.


Walker Buehler took the mound for Los Angeles and pitched for 5.2 innings. He allowed six hits and three runs while striking out four batters. Buehler's performance included giving up two home runs which contributed significantly to Cincinnati's scoring.

On offense, Mookie Betts was one of the few bright spots for Los Angeles with a double in his at-bat during the second inning. However, other key players struggled at the plate; collectively, they struck out eight times and failed to drive in any additional runs.


Cincinnati opened their scoring early with one run in both the first and second innings before adding another insurance run in the sixth inning. Hunter Greene started for Cincinnati and delivered an impressive performance over six innings where he allowed just one run on five hits while striking out seven Dodgers batters.

Fernando Cruz and Sam Moll each contributed holds during their relief appearances before Alexis Díaz closed out the game successfully earning his ninth save of this season without allowing any further damage from Los Angeles hitters.


Defensively speaking both teams played clean games without committing errors but it was ultimately Cincinnati’s timely hitting that made all difference securing them victory over visiting team from California
