Dodgers Outlast Angels in 10-Inning Marathon at Angel Stadium

In a battle for Los Angeles supremacy, the Dodgers, boasting an impressive 84-55 season record, squared off against their city rivals, the Angels, who entered the fray with a less formidable 57-81 tally. The contest stretched into extra innings before the Dodgers clinched a decisive 6-2 victory.

The showdown took place at Angel Stadium before an eager crowd of 44,731 spectators. Over ten innings of play, both teams displayed sterling defensive prowess, committing not a single error between them. The Dodgers' offense came alive with six hits and as many runs. Their breakthrough moment arrived in the tenth inning when they unleashed three hits to drive in four runs and secure their win.

Dodgers pitchers delivered a standout performance from the mound. The starting pitcher posted an earned run average of 3.6 across five innings while retiring six batters on strikes and achieving a walks plus hits per inning pitched ratio of 1.4. Relief pitcher Daniel Hudson shone brightly by striking out three batters without surrendering any runs or hits during his time on the mound.

Offensively for the Dodgers, Mookie Betts was in fine form; he achieved a batting average of .400 including hitting one home run every five at-bats and boasted an on-base plus slugging percentage of 1.4. Despite Teoscar Hernández's lackluster performance with no hits from five attempts and Freddie Freeman batting .500 without adding to RBIs or home runs tally, it was clear that teamwork played a pivotal role in their triumph.

The Angels managed to muster five hits over the course of the game but could only translate these into two runs scored during their second and fifth innings respectively.
