First Inning

Both teams started cautiously in the first inning. The Dodgers managed one hit but couldn't convert it into runs. Meanwhile, the Cardinals mirrored this performance with one hit as well but were unable to capitalize on it.

Second Inning

The second inning proved pivotal for the Blue as they exploded with a three-run burst that set the tone for their offensive display. Mookie Betts was instrumental during this period, contributing significantly to his team's scoring efforts and showcasing his batting prowess.

In these innings, both teams struggled to add more runs initially. However, by the fourth inning, Los Angeles added another run to extend their lead further while keeping the Redbirds scoreless through strategic pitching maneuvers.

Fifth and Sixth Innings

The fifth inning saw St. Louis finally break through with a run of their own after consistent pressure on Dodger pitchers Clayton Kershaw and Lou Trivino who had been effective up until then. The sixth inning witnessed another run from each team; however, L.A.'s bullpen held firm against any significant comeback attempts by St.Louis.
