A consistent effort saw them scoring single runs in both the seventh and eighth innings but failing to capitalize further despite nine hits throughout the game.


San Francisco's pitching staff had mixed results on the day. The starters managed to keep their ERA at a respectable 3.0 across six innings pitched but allowed two earned runs from six hits. The bullpen encountered difficulties later in the game, contributing an ERA of 6.0 over three innings pitched and giving up five runs (two earned) on five hits.

On defense, San Francisco committed one error which proved costly amidst their tight battle against Pittsburgh. Their fielding percentage stood at .974 with ten assists and one double play turned over ten innings.


Pittsburgh's performance was highlighted by their ability to capitalize late in the game with four crucial runs scored in ninth inning followed by a decisive run in tenth inning securing their victory.
