Giants' Eighth-Inning Eruption Sinks Pirates at PNC Park

The San Francisco Giants improved their record to 25-26 with a narrow 7-6 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates, who now stand at 23-28. The game, held at PNC Park, saw the Giants rally late to secure the win.

The Giants started slowly, failing to score in the first three innings despite managing four hits. They finally got on the board in the fourth inning with one run. By contrast, Pittsburgh took an early lead with a run in the first inning and added four more runs in a productive fourth inning.


San Francisco's offense was highlighted by an explosive eighth inning where they scored five runs on six hits. This pivotal moment turned the tide of the game and ultimately secured their victory. The Giants' hitters collectively had 13 hits and two home runs throughout the game.

On defense, San Francisco committed one error but managed to hold off Pittsburgh's attempts to regain control of the game. Luke Jackson earned his second win of the season while Tyler Rogers secured his first save.


Pittsburgh's offense was led by consistent hitting across multiple innings but fell short despite scoring six runs on nine hits. Hunter Stratton took his first loss of the season after allowing crucial runs during San Francisco’s decisive eighth inning.
