The game unfolded with intensity from the start. The Guardians took an early lead in the first inning by scoring three runs and added another run in the second inning to solidify their position. However, it was during the fifth inning that the Giants showcased their resilience and strategic hitting by scoring three crucial runs. This rally was pivotal as it brought them back into contention after being down early in the game.

Key performances for the Giants included Jorge Soler who demonstrated his batting skills by achieving an impressive on-base percentage of .600 and slugging percentage of .667 over three at-bats which resulted in one run scored and one hit. Matt Chapman also stood out with an average of .333 and an on-base plus slugging (OPS) of .933; his disciplined approach at plate earned him a high walk per plate appearance rate of .400.

On pitching duties for San Francisco was Kyle Harrison who started on mound but struggled through his outing with an earned run average (ERA) of 10.8 over just over three innings pitched; he allowed four earned runs which contributed significantly to Cleveland's early lead.

Despite these efforts from key players, it wasn't enough to overcome Cleveland's initial surge led by Pedro Avila who secured his third win contributing significantly towards maintaining their lead throughout most parts of this tightly contested match.
