Guardians' Offensive Highlights

The Guardians showcased a balanced offensive performance with a total of 10 hits leading to six runs. Key innings for the team were the first and third, where they scored two runs in each inning, capitalizing on their opportunities early in the game. Their ability to convert hits into runs was evident as they left only seven runners on base throughout the game. Kyle Manzardo stood out with his impressive .250 batting average, hitting one home run and driving in two runs. Steven Kwan also made significant contributions with an outstanding .800 batting average from five at-bats, driving in four runs.

Pitching Dominance

On the pitching side, Gavin Williams delivered an exceptional performance as the starting pitcher for the Guardians. He recorded an ERA of 1.8 over five innings pitched while striking out batters at a rate of 12.6 per nine innings and maintaining a WHIP (Walks plus Hits per Inning Pitched) of just 1.0. This strong start set the tone for Cleveland's bullpen which continued to suppress Chicago's hitters effectively throughout the remainder of the game.
