The Mariners set the tone early, putting two runs on the board in the first inning followed by another run in the second. Despite not scoring in innings three through five, they maintained their offensive pressure. The sixth inning saw no runs but included a hit that kept the Padres' defense on their toes. It was in the seventh inning when Seattle added another run to their tally.

However, it was during the ninth inning that Seattle truly shined. Capitalizing on an error by San Diego and showcasing aggressive batting, they managed to secure three more runs off three hits which proved pivotal for their triumph.

Seattle's hitters demonstrated patience at the plate with six walks contributing to an on-base percentage (OBP) of .341 and leaving eight runners stranded on base (LOB). Their slugging percentage (SLG) stood at .400 for this game while achieving an impressive batting average with runners in scoring position (AVG RISP) of .250.

On top of that, two home runs were part of Seattle's extra-base hits (XBH), one being crucial during their ninth-inning rally. The team also showcased speed on bases with one stolen base out of one attempt – maintaining a perfect steal percent rate for this encounter.

Defensively, Seattle played error-free baseball while turning five assists into outs without any double plays but still managing a flawless fielding percentage (FPCT) of 1.0 across all innings.

Seattle's bullpen had its ups and downs but ultimately held strong when it mattered most. They faced 19 batters over four innings pitched (IP), striking out four – contributing to an overall nine strikeouts per nine innings ratio (K/9). Despite allowing four earned runs which reflected an earned run average (ERA) of 9.0 for relief pitchers specifically, they managed to save one game out of two save opportunities presented during this match-up.

The starting pitcher for Seattle provided five solid innings allowing only two earned runs and striking out two batters – resulting in a starter ERA of 3.6 and WHIP standing at .800 due to limited walks given up and seven hits allowed over his duration on mound duty.
