From the outset, Seattle established dominance, racking up five runs off six hits in just the first inning and continuing their scoring spree with two additional runs in the second. Their offensive onslaught culminated in a total of thirteen hits over the course of the game while maintaining flawless defense without a single error. The Mariners' batting was nothing short of remarkable, boasting an average of .325 and achieving an on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS) of 1.0.

Jorge Polanco and Lucas Raley were pivotal in spearheading Seattle's attack. Polanco dazzled with a home run and two runs batted in (RBIs), alongside an OPS of 1.25 for this outing. Raley was equally impressive, hitting at an average of .500 and adding two RBIs to bolster his team's dominant performance.

On the pitching front, Trent Thornton was instrumental for Seattle, securing a victory with an earned run average (ERA) that remained untouched at 0.0 throughout his tenure on the mound, complemented by striking out nine batters per nine innings pitched—a testament to his precision and control. Luis Castillo took up starting duties but encountered some resistance from Cardinals hitters, posting an ERA of 6.0 across three innings.

Despite managing nine hits that translated into four runs, St Louis's efforts were slightly marred by one defensive error which proved costly during key moments.
