Mariners' Seventh-Inning Surge Sinks Angels at T-Mobile Park

Mariners Dominate Early and Late

The Seattle Mariners improved their record to 17-12 with a decisive 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels, who now stand at 12-16. The game, held at T-Mobile Park, saw the Mariners capitalize on key moments to secure their win. The M’s took an early lead in the second inning with a burst of energy that resulted in three runs from two hits. This early advantage set the tone for Seattle's performance throughout the game.

Jorge Polanco was instrumental in this offensive push, showcasing his power by hitting two home runs in his previous outing and maintaining a strong presence on base with an impressive .667 average and 3.417 OPS. His contributions were crucial as they provided momentum for Seattle's lineup.

Seattle's pitching staff also played a pivotal role, effectively managing Los Angeles' lineup. Bryce Miller delivered an outstanding performance as a starter, maintaining an ERA of 0.0 while striking out six batters over five innings pitched. His command on the mound limited the Halos to just two hits during his tenure.

Angels' Efforts Fall Short

Despite their efforts, the Angels struggled to break through against Seattle's pitchers until later innings. The Halos managed only one run in both the seventh and eighth innings but failed to sustain any significant rallies against Emerald City's bullpen.

Collin Snider and Andrés Muñoz were particularly effective out of relief for Seattle; Snider maintained a perfect WHIP of 0 while Muñoz struck out three batters per nine innings pitched without allowing any walks or earned runs.

Los Angeles’ offense was spearheaded by isolated performances such as those from Shohei Ohtani who contributed significantly during these late attempts but ultimately fell short due to consistent defensive plays by Mariners’ fielders like J.P Crawford whose flawless fielding percentage helped keep errors at bay throughout all nine innings played.
