First Inning

In a night game at T-Mobile Park, the Seattle Mariners faced off against the Washington Nationals. The Mariners entered the game with a record of 30-24, while the Nationals stood at 25-30. The final score was 9-0 in favor of the Nats, marking a challenging evening for the home team.

The first inning set an early tone as both teams failed to score. The Mariners' pitcher George Kirby took to the mound with an ERA of 10.8 from his previous outing and managed to keep things tight initially. However, it was clear that Kirby would need more support from his offense if they were to overcome their opponents.

Second Inning

The second inning saw a shift in momentum as Washington's bats came alive. They scored two runs on three hits, putting pressure on Seattle's defense and pitching staff. Despite Jorge Polanco's efforts at third base for Seattle, who maintained a perfect fielding percentage in this game, it wasn't enough to stem the tide.

Seattle struggled offensively throughout this period with no hits recorded against them by Washington’s pitchers who kept their composure under pressure.

Fourth Inning

By the fourth inning, things began unraveling further for Seattle when Washington added three more runs on another trio of hits. This offensive surge highlighted some vulnerabilities within Seattle’s bullpen which had been evident from previous games where Blas Castano had posted an ERA of 9.0 and WHIP of 2.0.

Despite these challenges defensively speaking; Rowdy Tellez showed promise offensively during earlier matchups but couldn’t replicate such form here due largely down lack opportunities created around him given how well organized opposition proved themselves defensively too!
