In an impressive display of offense and defense, the Marlins out-hit the Braves with eight hits compared to six. The scoring for Miami began early with one run in each of the first two innings, setting a solid foundation for their lead. A significant surge came in the fifth inning when they tallied three runs, further distancing themselves from Atlanta.

Max Meyer, pitcher for Miami, secured his second win of the season by delivering an outstanding performance on the mound. He was instrumental in keeping Atlanta's hitters at bay throughout much of the game. The Marlins' pitching staff as a whole maintained control over proceedings with an overall earned run average (ERA) of just 1.0 and a walks plus hits per inning pitched (WHIP) ratio that stood at an impressive 0.6667.

Offensively, Miami showed discipline and power at bat with statistics reflecting their prowess: they achieved a batting average (AVG) of .258 and an on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS) of .711 during this matchup. Their efforts were highlighted by clutch hitting that resulted in five runs batted in (RBI), two extra-base hits (XBH), and notably three RBIs coming with two outs.

Defensively, while committing one error during play which is less than ideal, they demonstrated efficiency by turning two double plays and maintaining a fielding percentage just shy of perfection at .971.

On Atlanta's side despite being limited to only one run scored during this contest which came about during sixth inning action; Chris Sale took his first loss as he struggled against Miami's hitters allowing them to score multiple times before he exited from play.
