The Marlins took control early on with an impressive third inning rally. They capitalized on their opportunities by scoring four runs off three hits. This surge was crucial for setting the tone of the game and putting pressure on the Yankees. The team's batting average may have been modest at .200, but they made their hits count when it mattered most.

Miami's pitchers also played a pivotal role in securing this win. The bullpen managed to maintain an earned run average (ERA) of 4.5 over four innings pitched while striking out five batters and limiting base runners with a walks plus hits per inning pitched (WHIP) of 1.75. The starting pitcher contributed significantly as well, holding the ERA at zero over five innings and achieving an impressive ground out to fly out ratio (GOFO) of 0.857.

Defensively, the Marlins were flawless with no errors recorded and eight assists contributing to their perfect fielding percentage (FPCT). Their defensive prowess helped keep Yankee baserunners from turning into runs.

On offense, Miami showed discipline at the plate drawing six walks which complemented their six hits for the day including one home run that added to their total bases count of nine.
