From the outset, the Marlins demonstrated their offensive capabilities by scoring four runs in the first inning alone. This early lead was further extended in the second inning with an additional run. Despite not scoring in innings three through five, they came back strong in the sixth inning with three runs and sealed their victory with four more runs in the ninth inning. The team's hitting statistics were impressive, boasting an average of .359 and an on-base percentage (OBP) of .444 for this game.

The Marlins' pitching staff also contributed significantly to their win. The bullpen had an outstanding performance with an earned run average (ERA) of 1.8 over five innings pitched, allowing only one run and striking out five batters. Their overall pitching performance across nine innings resulted in three earned runs allowed on five hits.

On defense, despite committing two errors during play which did not significantly impact their winning margin, they managed to maintain control over their opponents' advances.

For the Athletics, it was a challenging game as they struggled both offensively and defensively against a determined Marlins team. They managed to score two runs during fourth-inning play but could only add one more run to their tally later on.
