The game started promisingly for the Marlins as they managed to put up two runs in the first inning, signaling a strong start. However, as the innings progressed, their initial momentum waned. By contrast, after a quiet start through three innings, the Rays' bats came alive in later innings. A pivotal moment came during the sixth inning when Tampa Bay scored five runs which significantly shifted the dynamics of this contest.

Nicholas Fortes stood out for Miami with an impressive batting average of .750 after securing three hits from four at-bats and achieving an on-base percentage of .75. His performance was one of few highlights for Miami in this encounter. Another notable contribution came from Emmanuel Rivera who managed to hit a home run contributing to his OPS standing at 1.0.
