From the outset, the Marlins set a strong pace, scoring two runs in the first inning and adding another two in the second. Their performance at bat was impressive throughout, as they managed to score in six out of nine innings. Key contributions came from Otto Lopez and Jesús Sánchez, who were instrumental in building up Miami's lead. Lopez showcased his batting skills with an average of .500 including a home run and one RBI, while Sánchez hit flawlessly for an average of 1.000 and brought three runners home.

The pitching side saw its share of struggles but also had moments of brilliance. Anthony Veneziano earned a win with his pitching performance that included an ERA of 6.75 over his stint on the mound, striking out batters at a rate of 13.5 per nine innings pitched which contributed significantly to keeping Dodgers' hitters at bay during critical moments.

Despite facing a formidable opponent in Los Angeles Dodgers who put up nine runs thanks to their twelve hits across nine innings without committing any errors, it was Miami's relentless offense that ultimately decided the game's outcome.
