First Inning

The opening inning set a cautious tone as both teams managed only one hit each without scoring any runs. The Marlins' Jesús Sánchez made an early impact by getting on base, but his efforts were stifled by solid defensive play from the Buccos.

Second Inning

In the second inning, Pittsburgh took an early lead with 1 run on 3 hits. The Fish struggled to respond offensively, failing to capitalize on their opportunities and leaving runners stranded.

Fifth Inning

The fifth inning proved decisive for Pittsburgh as they extended their lead significantly. With 3 runs scored off just two hits, including a home run that energized their fans at PNC Park, they put pressure on Miami's pitching staff.

Sixth Inning

Miami's most promising moment came in the sixth inning when they finally broke through with two runs of their own. Heriberto Hernández contributed significantly with his impressive .500 batting average and crucial RBI during this period. However, despite these efforts and additional hits from Nick Fortes who maintained an impeccable batting average of 1.000 over two at-bats, Miami couldn't close the gap further.

Eighth Inning

As tensions rose in the eighth inning, both teams added another layer of intensity to this matchup; however it was Pittsburgh who managed another run thanks largely due to disciplined hitting which saw them add one more hit while keeping errors minimal throughout playtime - unlike Miami whose single error earlier had cost dearly already!

Despite strong performances from key players like Connor Norby (.500 OPS) or Javier Sanoja (perfect fielding percentage), it wasn't enough against such formidable opposition today – especially given how well-rounded Pirate’s lineup appeared overall too!
