First Inning

The game began with both teams eager to establish dominance. The Orioles quickly took control by scoring 2 runs on 3 hits in the first inning. The Marlins struggled to respond offensively, managing only one hit and leaving runners stranded on base. Miami's starting pitcher Edward Cabrera faced challenges early on but managed to prevent further damage despite allowing multiple hits.

Third Inning

As the third inning unfolded, Baltimore extended their lead with another pair of runs from four hits. The Fish continued to struggle offensively as they failed to capitalize on opportunities and remained scoreless through this period. Cabrera's performance was marked by high strikeout numbers but also an elevated earned run average of 9.0 due to the early runs conceded.

Seventh Inning

In the seventh inning, Baltimore added another run from two hits, bringing their total tally up while keeping Miami at bay defensively. Despite efforts from players like Otto Lopez who had shown promise in previous games with a .500 batting average and home run capability, Miami couldn't break through Baltimore’s pitching lineup effectively during this stretch.

Ninth Inning

The ninth inning saw a glimmer of hope for Miami as they rallied late in an attempt to close the gap against Baltimore’s lead. With two crucial runs scored off two hits including a home run that energized fans hoping for an upset victory; however it proved insufficient as time ran out before further progress could be made against solid defensive plays by the Birds.
